Independent agency 22squared announced a major new hire this morning—adding Annette Sally to its team as the agency’s first evp, executive director of account management. Sally will work from the agency’s Atlanta office and report to chief client officer Brandon Murphy, effective immediately.
Prior to joining 22squared, Sally headed up global business at Leo Burnett in Chicago. During her time at Leo Burnett, Sally oversaw the #LikeAGirl campaign for Always. She was also the evp, global business leader for all of the agency’s feminine care work for Procter & Gamble. Earlier in her career, Sally gained experience at other shops including Arnold Worldwide and Grey.
“Bringing a leader of Annette’s caliber to 22squared is a big step for our agency. We have ambitious goals and plans for our future and she will be critical in helping us achieve them. Her experience in leading brands to and through game-changing ideas will help 22squared make a bigger impact,” Murphy said in a statement.
In her new role Sally will oversee all clients for the agency’s Atlanta and Tampa offices, including Home Depot, Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin’ Donuts and more. Sally said what attracted her most to the agency was its purpose: “Together, we give rise to change.”
“The philosophy of this agency is so aligned with how I work as a professional and how I live as a person. They are very committed to and passionate about change and how they can bring about that change for their clients, but also for the world. That is a passion point for me as well,” Sally said.
Sally also adds to the agency’s growing female representation. Currently, 30 percent of 22squared’s executive leadership is female while 80 percent of its svp’s are female.
