Creative design shop Edenspiekermann of Berlin has spent the past two years importing its Euro-design vibe to America via its U.S. headquarters in Los Angeles and offices in San Francisco and Chicago.
“We are helping clients rethink their thinking through our methodologies, products, services and offerings,” Edenspiekermann CEO Anna Ibbotson said, adding that the agency’s collaborative model helps it function as “an extension of the client team.”
“We are a boutique agency by choice. … It allows us to be very nimble,” Ibbotson said. This sets it apart from larger agencies “which have a tougher time adapting to a client’s approach,” she added.
The agency’s European roots impact its philosophy on work-life balance, including an unlimited vacation policy and transfer program with its Berlin headquarters. “In our Berlin office, everyone is out the door at 5:30 on the dot. We’ve been able to keep that work-life balance here as well,” CCO Paul Woods said. “There [are] only so many hours people can be productive and also happy.”
Edenspiekermann recently completed a digital channel for long-time client Red Bull called Red Bull TV, which Woods describes as “Netflix for Red Bull,” a project which took around four years. The agency’s current projects include an in-car digital experience for Faraday Future and a digital town hall for the city of Santa Monica.
