The media wing of Interpublic Group announced the appointment of digital veteran Tim Ringel as the global president of Reprise, its search and digital experience agency.

Reprise provides search engine marketing, SEO and social media optimization services across the larger IPG organization's client roster and employs more than 500 in 40 offices around the world.

In the newly created position, Ringel will work to drive the further development of those capabilities while also growing Reprise's client base. He reports to IPG Mediabrands global CEO Henry Tajer and North American chief operating officer Chris Loll in New York.

"Over the last year, our network has invested heavily in building best-in-class products,

recruiting top talent and expanding the global footprint of our specialty business units," said Tajer in a statement. "In hiring Tim, we are continuing this trend of building stronger, more innovative and dynamic business units to support and partner with our clients and our network."

Ringel is a veteran of the digital marketing world, and the press release credits him with "correctly predicting the profound impact digital would have" on the industry by launching the Netherlands-based metapeople Group in 1999. He sold the company to NetBooster Group of Paris in 2011 and assumed the role of CEO.

"Reprise is widely considered one of the premier search agencies in the business," said

Ringel in a statement. "To lead IPG Mediabrands' search and digital evolution as well as Reprise's global expansion is an opportunity I couldn't pass up."
