WPP-owned digital agency Wunderman has acquired commerce experience agency Gorilla Group.
The agency, which, according to a release, provides “end-to-end experience-driven commerce solutions and services” across platforms including Adobe, IBM Watson Commerce, Salesforce and SAP, will become part of Wunderman Commerce.
Gorilla Group currently employs some 370 employees across the U.S., Canada, Poland and Ukraine, working with business-to-business and direct-to-consumer brands across the food and beverage, apparel, retail, manufacturing, distribution, health and beauty sectors, including American Hotel Register Company, Gates Industrial Corporation and protein manufacturer RXBAR.
“This acquisition gives Wunderman Commerce a wider footprint across North America while also presenting an opportunity for our global clients to access the knowledge and skills of one of the best commerce experience teams out there,” Wunderman Commerce global CEO Neil Stewart said in a statement. “Gorilla’s leadership and award-winning work with key partners such as SAP Hybris, Salesforce and Magento is impressive and together we can provide brands and retailers with a best-in-class experience-driven commerce offering.”
“Wunderman Commerce has a reputation for defining and delivering robust commerce solutions on each and every channel,” Gorilla Group CEO Brian Grady added. “Their ability to drive meaningful customer engagements and commitment to helping brands and businesses navigate the digital economy is something we also strive for. We are excited to be part of the future of commerce with Wunderman Commerce.”
The acquisition follows the launch of onsite practice Wunderman Inside back in March. That same month, Daniel Bonner arrived as Wunderman’s new global CCO. In May, the agency hired Helder Santo from R/GA as president of its New York office and downsized its Seattle office in the wake of T-Mobile taking more of its data and analytics work in-house.
