Saatchi & Saatchi New York has tapped Andrea Diquez to be president, adding another woman to its executive leadership team. She joins recent hires Carol Miller-Repetto (COO for the shop's P&G business), Jessica Hendrix (president of Saatchi & Saatchi X USA) and Julie Michael (president of Team One).

Her appointment comes as the agency restructures and streamlines its operations following the closure of its music department in September. Diquez was previously evp global director, a job she took on in August 2013, and spearheaded the agency's work on P&G's Olay business.

In her new role, Diquez will work closely with Saatchi N.Y. CEO Brent Smart to push the agency forward by managing day-to-day operations amid the restructuring, ensuring everything from client relations to internal communications runs smoothly.

"The elevation of Andrea's role is recognition of the brilliant work she has done over many years, especially on P&G," Saatchi & Saatchi New York CEO Brent Smart said in an emailed statement. "As my 'second-in-command,' Andrea will be my partner in running the agency, so I can continue to focus on leading the agency's culture and growth."

Alongside those commitments, Diquez will also continue managing the Olay account globally. She's been with the agency since 1995 and has held various roles throughout the years, including roughly two years as CEO of Saatchi's Mexico office, and svp global equity director in New York.

"I'll improve on the base that Brent [Smart] has been building for the past year and a half, and help bring in incredible people and make all of those people work together really well," Diquez told Adweek. "I think Saatchi has an incredible strategic planning capability and incredible digital capabilities that we are building right now. I just love working with the creatives at Saatchi."
