Product and Service Supplier Looking Nationwide for Agency
LOS ANGELES–B2Bstores.com has begun a national search for a shop to handle its $12-18 million account, according to Shannon Jessup, executive vice president of business development.
The online startup has contacted agencies of various sizes across the country, said Jessup, and is in the process of chemistry checks. It is a new assignment, and there is no incumbent.
The business-to-business product and service supplier is looking at shops that are “creative, print-heavy and strategic, with interesting media placement,” Jessup said. The company will not require agencies to make speculative creative presentations, she said.
“We’d rather go with a smaller shop,” said Jessup, although the client is considering a few larger agencies as well.
The company’s venture capital funding is scheduled to be completed within the next “couple weeks,” she said. An agency selection is expected by the second week of December.
The company’s Web site, www.b2bstores.com, launched earlier this year, but a major launch and advertising push will not take place until the first quarter.
Billing itself as the “ultimate Web destination for businesses,” B2BStores.com, Long Beach, Calif., targets small-to-midsized businesses. It sells janitorial supplies, maintenance equipment, health and safety equipment, lunchroom and paper products and security items.
The site also offers services such as business finance, communications, event/trade show support, human resources, marketing services, shipping, travel and entertainment and office support. In addition, it contains business content such as chat rooms, auction sites, links to related business sites and zip code searches. K
