BBDO New York was the top agency winner at the Art Directors Club’s 89th annual awards, winning three gold Cubes for its HBO “Cube Film Installation” (pictured). The agency won two of the honors in advertising categories broadcast innovation and unconventional/guerilla and one for environmental design.
Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, and Wieden + Kennedy, Portland, Ore., came in second, with two gold awards each. Goodby won in interactive for GE’s “Plug Into the Smart Grid” and HP’s “Summit on the Summit.” Wieden won two cubes in interactive for Nike’s “Livestrong Foundation.”
The Hybrid Cube, which honor’s the year’s most “game-changing, innovative and inspiring work,” went to The Martin Agency, Richmond, Va., for the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum’s “We Choose the Moon” effort.
The awards will be presented on May 19 at the SVA Theatre at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
