“Crazy and fun.” That’s the spirit Guillermo Vega, ecd at Young & Rubicam, was hoping to capture in a new Latin American campaign for VH1.
Two spots touting “The Wonderful World of VH1” promote the varied programming, from music to reality-TV-style shows, available on the network. Working with New York executive creative directors Scott Vitrone and Ian Reichenthal, Vega, ecd of Latin America, turned to Hungry Man’s Bryan Buckley to direct “Anti Rock Star” and “If You Like YouTube.”
The resulting wild and wacky commercials are being considered for markets outside of Latin America, says Sean Saylor, vp of creative for MTV Networks International, including the U.K. and Australia.
We caught up with the creative team on the Los Angeles production for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the campaign.
