Bronner Takes Marketing Post at Jim Beam

CHICAGO Jim Beam Brands Worldwide has named Beth Bronner senior vice president of marketing, effective Sept. 29, company officials said.

Bronner will manage marketing, advertising, public relations and consumer promotion for the company’s spirit brands, including Jim Beam bourbon, DeKuyper cordials and the company’s portfolio of super-premium labels. She will report to Thomas J. Flocco, chief operating officer, at the Deerfield, Ill.-based distiller. Bronner replaces Thomas Hernquist, who left the company in April.

The appointment comes just weeks after Jim Beam executives awarded their $20 million advertising account to BBDO, Chicago, following a review.

Bronner’s background includes branding work for Revlon, Nabisco, AT&T, Haagen-Dazs, Slim-Fast, Citibank and Sunbeam.

Her previous experience includes president of Sunbeam Corp.’s health division in Chicago, where she led marketing, sales and manufacturing. Most recently, Bronner was president and chief operating officer at ADVO, a direct mail marketing services company, where she was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the $1.2 billion NYSE firm.

Bronner earned her MBA from the University of Chicago and her undergraduate degree at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
