Roadside comfort food chain Cracker Barrel will be the first sell Alan Jackson’s new CD “Songs of Love and Heartache.” Beginning November 2, the hits collection will be available at participating locations, along with a line of Alan Jackson-themed merchandise.
The country star has put his name on a full lifestyle products line, including a hardwood rocking chair (“The Alan Jackson Signature Rocker”), candles, mugs and decorative throws. Cracker Barrel will also offer apparel like shirts and hats made of Jackson’s preferred materials (suede, leather and cotton).
Partnering with the Lebanon, Tenn.¬–based restaurant and retail chain was an obvious choice said Jackson, in a statement. “I grew up in the South, so Cracker Barrel has been a part of my family since I was a young man. I was really flattered when they came to me with the idea of working together to create a collection for their country store.”
The Cracker Barrel country stores sell a range of merchandise with an old-fashioned sensibility, including vintage Slinkys, birdhouses and candy. Since 2003, the chain has been offering exclusive music CDs, with such country luminaries as Merle Haggard, George Jones and Dolly Parton.
“Cracker Barrel has been focused for several years on providing our guests with great musical offerings that they can get only at our stores,” Peter Keiser, vp of marketing for Cracker Barrel, said in a statement. “The Alan Jackson Collection is a good way for Cracker Barrel to connect with our guests and for our guests to connect with Alan.”
