CANNES, France—Everyone loves the spare, haunting beauty of Droga5's Michael Phelps ad for Under Armour, a strong contender for Film Lions here at the Cannes Lions festival. But originally the commercial was going to have a lot more copy.

Droga5's chief creative officer, Ted Royer, takes us inside lots of his recent work in this video, including HBO and Johnsonville. And he also tells us what work from other agencies here at Cannes has impressed him.
