CNET of San Francisco partnered with media network of Singapore in a joint venture designed to tap into what’s estimated to be a user base of 202 million non-Japanese Asian Internet users by 2003. The two will create CNET Asia, a network of sites with localized versions of CNET’s offerings. already licenses CNET content and the two companies have rolled out local CNET sites in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia.

Menlo Park, Calif., provider of free, Net-based fax services announced an agreement with Cable & Wireless to provide’s services for the Vienna, Va.-based company’s Virtual ISP product.

Flycast Communications Corp., San Francisco, announced the commercial launch of the Flycast eDispatch Newsletter Network. The company said more than 100 affiliates already have joined the Newsletter Network, a one-stop option for advertisers to run banner and text advertisements across multiple newsletters with a single media buy.

CoolSavings, Chicago, a Web clearinghouse for coupons, discounts and special offers on consumer products, agreed to dismiss its patent infringement suit against emaildirect of Aliso Viejo, Calif. The terms of the settlement allow emaildirect to implement its Value-mail service, a geographically targeted e-mailed newsletter with coupons and offers, without having to make any changes or pay any licensing fees
