Longtime client marketing executive Kerri Martin is going agency-side, taking an account leadership role at BBDO West in San Francisco.
Martin, who most recently was chief marketing officer at Coda Automotive in Santa Monica, Calif., will be a senior vice president and business director on the E. & J. Gallo Winery account at Omnicom Group’s BBDO, an agency representative said. She’ll start next month and report to Brent Smart, managing director of the 60-person office, the rep said.
Martin spent just eight months at Coda, which is launching an electric car in the U.S. this year. She joined the company after more than a year of consulting.
Mike Jackson, the former General Motors executive who leads sales and marketing at Coda, is expected to absorb Martin’s CMO duties. Coda could not immediately be reached.
Coda’s lead agency is Goodness Mfg., the advertising arm of Trailer Park in Hollywood, Calif. Coda hired the shop in February after a review.
Earlier in her career, Martin held top marketing roles at Volkswagen of America and BMW, where she worked on both BMW Motorcycles and the Cooper Mini.
Before BMW, she was a marketing and public relations manager for the motor clothes division of Harley-Davidson.
