LinkGuard Gets $3.3 Mil. Investment

In an effort to expand its U.S. presence, LinkGuard, a Maidenhead, England-based technology company that is creating a map of more than 100 billion links on the Web, has received $3.3 million in venture funding from a consortium led by Reuters Greenhouse Fund.

LinkGuard will use the funds to forge partnerships with U.S.-based search engines, e-commerce companies and ISPs looking to improve the stickiness of their sites and retain visitors, according to Franck Jeannin, founder and CEO.

“We are thrilled to receive this kind of validation in a time when market conditions have been volatile and most companies have had fewer venture funding opportunities,” said Jeannin. “Reuters believes [in us] … and it is this synergy that will drive our services to market and improve the ecology of the Web.”
