Arnold Communications, Boston, has made a number of recent promotions. Pat D’Amico, Barbara Reilly and Skip Weldon were moved up to group account directors. D’Amico works on Bell Atlantic, Reilly on Champion and Weldon on the American Legacy Foundation account. Elizabeth Dagget has gone from account supervisor to management supervisor on Bell Atlantic and MyWay.com. Beth Hetrick is now a media supervisor on Ocean Spray and Royal Caribbean; Sarah Murphy is a senior art buyer; Anna Colavito is a senior traffic manager; and Lori Castrichini has been promoted to media planner on Ocean Spray. Arnold also has hired account supervisor Mitch Blum, who returns to the agency after two years at Mullen; junior art buyer David Halpin, who was the publisher’s assistant in Adweek’s Boston office; and account coordinator Melanie Kahn, who worked for several TV stations doing news research and general assignment stories.
CGN Marketing & Creative Services, Boston, has appointed Larry Kessenich editorial director. Kessenich formerly was a senior writer at Philip Johnson Associates.
Donovan Group, Northborough, has hired five new staffers for its account service team: account supervisor Andria Silva, formerly of Young & Rubicam and Grey Advertising, both of New York; and assistant account executives Stephen Blondin, a former Donovan intern; Reagen Brown, previously marketing communications coordinator for Worcester Controls in Marlborough, Mass.; Joy Quinn, formerly a direct marketing specialist for Lumber Insurance Cos. in Framingham, Mass.; and Courtney Ryan, previously a field promotion manager for Momentum Marketing in Washington, D.C.
Hatmaker creative director Chris Goveia has been made a partner in the Watertown broadcast design firm. Goveia is best known for his work on high-profile projects for Cinemax, Sony Entertainment Television, Warner Bros. and the upcoming launch of Cosmopolitan Television in Europe this year.
After 11 years in a production role at Dickinson Direct, Vin Pesaturo has joined the Braintree firm’s sales force. Cathleen Wall has joined the agency as an account manager. She spent two years as a program coordinator for Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing of Philadelphia. Brian Hession has been promoted from manager of list services to director of list and analytical services. Other promotions include Jim Gaudet to manager of the newly formed imaging division, Matt Packard to manager of the mailing division and John Ciaramaglia to manager of the new estimating and planning department.
Peter Arnold Associates, a Wellesley public relations firm, has named Bill Costley as a senior associate and Carol Sullivan as an associate.
Pierce-Cote Advertising, Osterville, has added two staff members: account executive Linda McAndrews and media and accounts manager Carol Panasci. McAndrews was marketing services manager for Brother International Corp., and Panasci was marketing and public relations manager for TOURCO, a New England wholesale receptive tour operator.
John Andreliunas has joined iWant.com as vice president of brand marketing. The Burlington e-commerce service connects buyers, sellers and traders to a diverse mix of goods and services. Andreliunas previously was vice president of brand marketing for Salomon North American, the outdoor sports division of adidas-Salomon A.G. He also held postions in international product marketing at Reebok International and the Rockport Co.
Adsmart, an Andover-based online advertising network owned by CMGI, has promoted several members of its sales and marketing team. John Abraham has become vice president of the media-plus division and targeted audience groups; Ray Colwell, director of strategic alliances; Patricia MacWilliams, division director for business and finance; David Burzynski, international sales director; Lisa Weinstein, division director of Adsmart NeFuerza; Kerry Bard, public relations director; Chris Winburn, Western regional manager of target audience groups; Bob Whiting, media-plus manager, East; and Andrew Rapp, account manager in the media plus division.
Cathryn Cranston has been hired by the Boston-based Harvard Business Review for the newly created post of national marketing director. She will work in Los Angeles, directing the publication’s national ad sales offices. Cranston most recently worked as director of the Los Angeles advertising office of The New York Times.
Maryellen Towle has been named vice president and general manager for Medford, Mass.-based radio stations KISS 108-FM and WXKS-AM, units of broadcasting conglomerate AMFM. Jack Foley was tapped as senior vice president of sales for the company’s Boston-area holdings.
NECN has named Gary Jensen local sales manager. Jensen comes to the Boston company from Lexington, Ky., where he was the market director of sales at Cumulus Media and worked with several radio stations. NECN also has hired Julie Sullivan as communications director. Sullivan previously worked on promotions for partnerships and the student segment at BankBoston.
Anne E. Malloy has joined the law firm of Goodwin, Proctor & Hoar in Boston as marketing director. Malloy previously was national director of field marketing for KPMG Peat Marwick, an accounting and consulting firm.
Aubrey Hazner has joined Mason & Madison Public Relations as general manager of the New Haven, Conn.-based firm’s Massachusetts operations. Hazner will oversee all operations of Mason & Madison’s new Commercial Wharf office, which serves clients such as Bell Atlantic Mobile and the Boston Communications Group. Hazner was previously president of Hazner Communications in Boston and PR director of the Massachussetts Registry of Motor Vehicles.
Farmington interactive agency BrainBug has added three senior staff members: Natasha Rethke, creative director; Deborah Norton, new business development manager; and Gloria Patman, quality assurance specialist. Prior to joining BrainBug, Rethke was creative director at Moss Warner Communications and Product Ventures, Ltd. With more than 10 years experience in marketing and sales, Norton has held positions with Business Edge Internet Design and IKON Technology Services, among others. Patman has served as a release manager, developer, analyst and team leader for large-scale projects as well as for client/server and Web environments.
Stephanie Cusson has joined the Bedford Granite Group, Bedford, as an account planner. She recently handled advertising and public relations for Merrimack Vision Care.
Labatt USA has appointed Anthony Giardina associate manager of field marketing in the Northeast division office in Hooksett. The division covers 13 states from Maine to Virginia. Giardina formerly was with Pro Player Sports Apparel.
