Lynne Seid has been appointed president of Symphoni Interactive, the new e-commerce joint venture between the Mastech Corp. and Wolf Group. Before joining the New York company, Seid was president of Partners & Shevack/Wolf.
Media Logic in Albany has hired two new staffers. The company has named George Moran III associate creative director; he arrives from Blass Communications, where he held the position of senior writer, contributing to campaigns for such clients as GE Plastics, the WNBA and Tripod Lycos. Lloyd Lawrence has joined the company as senior graphic designer; he previously served as art director, also at Blass Communications.
Adweek Magazines in New York has promoted Linda D’Adamo to New York regional sales director. She was most recently New York advertising manager.
The New York-based American Association of Advertising Agencies has announced two new appointments. William Nicholson was named to the new position of executive vice president, management services; he most recently served as chief financial officer and director of finance and administration at the League of American Theaters and Producers. Wendy Jones was promoted from senior vice president to executive vice president, AAAA Benefits, succeeding Don Lewis, who retired at the end of last year.
Della Femina/Jeary and Partners in New York has named Jeff Linder senior vice president, creative director. He was most recently vice president, associate creative director at Young & Rubicam.
Berenter Greenhouse & Webster in New York has named Arnie Arlow senior vice president/director of luxury marketing. Arlow had previously been executive vice president/partner, creative director at Margeotes/Fertitta + Partners, where he was responsible for the Carillon brands.
Cohn & Wolfe Healthcare has named Julie Gladman senior vice president. Before arriving at the New York-based agency, Gladman was on the corporate communications staff at Hoechst Marion Roussel, Hoechst AG’s pharmaceutical company.
Manning, Selvage & Lee has appointed Mike Marino director of creative and strategic development, with responsibilities that include counseling corporate, healthcare and consumer clients on developing global brand and franchise strategies. Toolbox has hired Cristina Merrill as a senior copywriter. Before arriving at the New York shop, Merrill was an associate editor in charge of media and marketing coverage at American Demographics. She has also worked as a reporter at large at Adweek magazine.
The New York City chapter of Sales & Marketing Executives has elected Joan Nilan to be its president for a one-year term. Nilan is director of new-business development at Rainbow Media.
Gelia Direct, the direct-marketing arm of Gelia Wells & Mohr in Clarence, has named Carl Schindler account executive.
He was most recently a copywriter at The Buffalo News. In addition, the company has promoted Pamela Firkins to account executive. She was previously data-entry manager.

The New York Festivals, located in Chappaqua, has named four advertising executives worldwide chairmen of international-awards competitions that are organized by the group and are running through 2000. Phil Dusenberry, chairman of BBDO New York, will preside over the print, radio and television creative advertising awards; Frank DeVito, partner at DeVito Fitterman, New York, and Barton Warner, franchise director, Europe, Africa, Middle East at Johnson & Johnson, Maidenhead, Berks, England, will co-chair the AME International advertising/marketing effectiveness awards; and Mike Lazur, executive vice president, chief creative officer worldwide at Torre Lazur Healthcare Group in Parsippany, N.J., will chair The Global Awards.

Bruce Medd was named vice president, account group supervisor; he was formerly a director in the worldwide anti-infective group at Pfizer. Susan Sedlazek was appointed an account supervisor, working on the SmithKline Beecham account; she was most recently a district sales manager at Schering-Plough Corp. Eric Fohl was hired as an account supervisor; he was formerly account supervisor at Integrated Communications. Cate Carley has been promoted from senior account executive to account supervisor on the Janssen business. Jody Wilk was elevated from account executive on the Ortho-McNeil business to senior account executive on Ortho-McNeil. Diane Snelson rose from account executive on the
Ortho Biotech business to senior account executive. Christine Terchek was promoted from assistant account executive to account executive.
The Star Group in Cherry Hill has recently elected Rob Simek, account supervisor, the shop’s “Shining Star.” The Shining Star Award is given to one employee each quarter for admirable performance and achievement, and is voted upon by fellow employees.

Anthony Tripido joins the Lawrenceville agency’s direct-marketing unit as a copywriter, working on Fidelity, Lucent Technologies, Roxy.com and IOF Foresters; previously, he was a copywriter at QLM Marketing. Al Navarro arrives as associate creative director, also at the direct-marketing unit, working on Fidelity, Roxy and Media & Beyond; he was an associate creative director at Rapp Collins Worldwide.
Princeton Partners, Princeton, has hired Elizabeth Jaust as assistant account executive, public relations. Most recently, she worked at Phoenix Marketing.
Vox Medica has announced that Robert Ritchie has stepped down as CEO of the company. Ritchie had spent about 35 years with Ted Thomas Associates and its recently developed parent, Vox Medica, Philadelphia; he joined Ted Thomas in 1964 as an account manager. He will continue to act as a consultant to Vox Medica and to selected clients, and is taking the position of president, CaliMed Consulting, which is a new division of Vox Medica.
Berry & Homer, a commercial photo and imaging lab in Philadelphia, has promoted Joseph Thompson III to president. He was previously executive vice president in charge of production and manufacturing at the company’s three facilities, with duties that included researching, purchasing, and supervising the installation and operation of high-tech imaging, computer, and printing equipment.

Laurie Mikes was named director of ADstein, the company’s data-rich, members-only Extranet Web site; she was previously director of research.
