NKH&W Stays Close to Home In Choosing ECD

NKH&W didn’t have to look far in its search for an executive creative director. The shop last week promoted group creative director Arlo Oviatt to the post.
After taking a “quiet look” at contenders from other agencies, Peter Kovac, president of the Kansas City, Mo., shop, said Oviatt’s business philosophy meshed with his own.
“He really gets the commercial side of advertising,” Kovac said. “We were lucky to have Arlo waiting in the wings.”
Oviatt began his career at Leo Burnett in Chicago and worked at D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, St. Louis, before teaching advertising at the University of Kansas. He joined the $65 million shop last year.
