It’s hard to believe, but 2018 is coming to an end. So many great ads were released this year, it’s hard to keep track of them all. Remember those hilarious Tide ads that kept popping up during the Super Bowl? How about that gorgeous HomePod spot featuring FKA twigs?

On this week’s episode of the Adweek podcast Yeah, That’s Probably an Ad, we’re joined by creative and innovation editor David Griner, senior creative editor Doug Zanger, senior brand editor Kristina Monllos and staff writer Katie Richards. All four experts share their picks for the top 5 ads of the year on the show.

Did your favorites make the cut? Among those on the list: a romantic cosmetics ad from Japan, a witty Spotify spot, an ode to Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (using billboards, naturally) and a nostalgic ad featuring Elton John through the years.

Plus, Burger King sent its customers to McDonald’s locations to collect a steep discount on Whoppers and Payless created a fake luxury shop, Palessi, to see how much people would pay for $20 shoes. The answer? A lot.
