Kevin Swanepoel has been named CEO of The One Club, a nonprofit group that awards excellence in advertising. He takes the reins from Mary Warlick, who has served as CEO since 2006.

Warlick is moving into a new role as president of A&C Film Distribution, a division of The One Club. She's an Emmy award-winning documentarian for her film Art & Copy and the PBS special The Real Mad Men and Women of Madison Avenue.

"This transition has been in the works for some time," Swanepoel said. "It was the natural progression that I would step into the role."

In his new role, Swanepoel will focus on expanding The One Club's international presence, adding South Africa, U.K. and Mexico locations to the organization's creative boot camp, as well as working on a new regional awards show in China. The One Club also recently added an international board of directors to help the organization's international expansion.

Swanepoel joined the organization in 1998 and has served as president since 2006. Previously, he worked as a media executive at Apple.

While The One Club is still searching for someone to fill Swanepoel's former role, it has elevated director of content Yash Egami to vp and head of marketing. Egami will focus on growing the nonprofit's international marketing communications.

The next One Show is slated for May 8.
