Ryan Kutscher Exits JWT New York

Was co-creative chief since May 2012

Ryan Kutscher, co-chief creative officer of the New York office of JWT, is exiting the WPP Group shop.

Kutscher held the co-CCO role (along with Matt MacDonald) since May 2012. He freelanced at the agency for three months prior. The appointment of Kutcher and MacDonald was the first major move by North American CCO Jeff Benjamin, who joined JWT in February 2012.

A JWT representative confirmed Kutscher's exit, saying, "We decided to part ways." The rep declined to elaborate.

Before JWT, Kutscher worked with Benjamin at Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Boulder, Colo., where Kutscher was a cd on brands such as Burger King, Volkswagen and Method. He spent eight years at Crispin.

The exit leaves MacDonald, a JWT veteran, as the sole New York CCO, though Benjamin is based in New York as well. MacDonald has worked at the agency since 2003.

The creative department employs about 120 staffers. Key office accounts include Macy's, Smirnoff, Johnson & Johnson, Bayer and Royal Caribbean.
