John Taylor has been promoted to the new position of chairman, Zenith Optimedia Worldwide, the Publicis Groupe-owned agency network confirmed today.
Taylor (pictured) will now oversee both the shop’s global product offering and client service organization while focusing on multinational clients. Previously, Taylor was director of client services. He will remain based in London at the agency’s worldwide headquarters and continue to report to global CEO Steve King.
Commenting on the promotion, King said Taylor “has played a critical role in making Zenith Optimedia become one of the most successful and best respected media agencies. Without [him], we would quite simply have fewer clients and a less competitive product.”
Taylor will continue to serve on the shop’s global executive committee. “In my new role, I aim to continue this momentum and ensure we have the best possible offer for our clients around the world,” he said.
Taylor is the latest of several recent global-level promotions at the network. These include the advancement of Fred Joseph to chief digital officer and the promotion of Guy Abrams to strategic marketing director. In addition, Rob Hill was recruited from media audit firm Billetts in the U.K. for the new position of international trading director.
