SOUTHFIELD, MICH. – Stone & Simons Advertising executive vp Rod Burton continued his mission of rebuilding the agency last week by naming Marc A. Williams to the vacant post of executive vp/executive creative director.
Williams moves to Stone & Simons from Young & Rubicam’s Detroit office, where he had held the same titles. Succeeding him as the head of Y&R’s creative department is Mike Belitsos, who had been responsible for the Lincoln-Mercury Division of Ford Motor Co. since joining Y&R in 1991. Prior to that he had been chairman-chief creative officer at CME-KHBB’s office here.
Burton said he joined Stone & Simons in May with a mandate ‘to help reinvent this agency. The addition of Don Stokes as media director was one step; Marc Williams’ arrival is another. We had a good product, now we have a great product to sell.’
