Yes, now there's an app for that. Via a Facebook app, you can now co-sponsor any bill or resolution that is introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Cosponsor.gov, introduced by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), will feature every bill and resolution introduced in the House. Bills can be searched by title, sponsor, bill number or browser issue areas.
"Whether you want to support new legislation like the Kids First Research Act or show support for legislation that has already passed the House, like the Working Families Flexibility Act, you can do so here," Cantor wrote in a blog post.
Users can stay updated about bills via Facebook notifications.
The launch of Cosponsor.gov is part of a major expansion of the Citizen Cosponsor Project, aimed at making the government more transparent and open. "We want to make sure Washington starts to work for you again, and not the other way around," Cantor said in a video on the website.
Of course, nothing is perfect. For example, there is also no way to provide comment or suggest changes to bills.
