Evian Babies Are Back, but They’ve Lost Their Mojo

Evian's roller-babies commercial was one of the great viral videos of its day (i.e., the summer of 2009) and is now closing in on 40 million views on YouTube. So, we were quite interested to hear that the agency, BETC Euro RSCG, had done a sequel. Unfortunately, the sequel blows chunks. Check it out below—it's a stop-motion clip of adults dancing around in baby-torso T-shirts, making the adults look like they're dancing babies—though not really. It so completely lacks the freakish charm of the original, which tapped into a long-running and unsettling fascination with CGI infants that dates back to the original Internet dancing baby. They'll be lucky to get 40 views with this one. This campaign is in serious need of a fresh diaper after this epic fail.
