Whenever we sit down with top creative directors for a video shoot these days, we ask them—among many other things—to pick their favorite Super Bowl ad.

More often than not, they choose Apple’s “1984.” But when they don’t pick “1984,” they’re often inclined to go with another classic—E*Trade’s “Monkey” ad from the 2000 Super Bowl, created by Gerry Graf and Dave Gray, then at Goodby Silverstein & Partners.

So it was a bit of a surprise when Gerry joined us for our latest “Best Ads Ever” video and picked a different E*Trade commercial as one of his favorite spots.

Check out the video above, where Graf picks his three favorite ads of all time, tells us what’s new at Barton F. Graf lately, and reveals what inspires him outside advertising today.

And below, see his “Best Ads” picks in full.
