Kids getting into advertising are so gung-ho.

They’re ready to win their first Cannes Lion as junior creatives and ride that train to a creative director job within a year. Soon, they’ll be making the big money—and not having to actually work very much at all.

If that’s your plan, Zulu Alpha Kilo would like to have a word with you. A number of words, actually, many of which will be curse words. And they’ll be yelled right in your spoiled, rotten face. Because your untalented ass doesn’t know the reality of advertising.

“Scared Straight” was made for Strategy magazine’s Agency of the Year event last week, which featured lots of industry-skewering parody videos.

Zulu Alpha Kilo has made notable videos for the Agency of the Year event before, including the famous “Say No to Spec” manifesto two years ago.

“Scared Straight” isn’t purely comedy. Zulu Alpha Kilo is looking to fill 14 new positions, and is committed to developing young people for the business. Earlier this year, it launched The “$40k a Year Employeeship”—an initiative that gives any soon to be or recent graduate seeking an internship as an art director, designer, or copywriter the chance to forgo an internship all together.
