The British are coming! To C-SPAN, that is.
The British Parliamentary election debate will be shown live on C-SPAN today on multiple C-SPANS — live on C-SPAN3 and C-SPAN.org, beginning at 3:30pm ET. Squaring off are Prime Minister and Labour Party Leader Gordon Brown, Conservative Leader David Cameron, and Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg. They’re all vying for Prime Minister. This is the first of three debates.
For the first-time ever, an American TV audience will be able to see these debates because it’s the first time ever the British are having them.
British Parliamentary Elections are May 6th, and leaders of the largest political parties will face off in three U.S.-style TV debates. C-SPAN will air the 90-minute debates in their entirety.
Don’t miss it. Debates air at 3:30pm(ET) and repeat on Sunday at 9pm(ET).
> Update: Find out more about the temperaments and potential personality pitfalls of the debaters in this story today in the NYT.
