Redesign Suggests Tablet Optimization

Over the weekend, TechCrunch discovered new things about Amazon, including that the rumored Amazon tablet will cost $250 and will have a 7-inch screen.

In addition the tech blog discovered that Amazon is optimizing its site to be more tablet-friendly. Here is more from the blog: “The new site features a much bigger search bar, bigger buttons, and less clutter – all changes that practically scream “tablet-optimized!”

The redesign is currently in beta and not available to all web users.  The Wall Street Journal has more: “‘We are continuing to roll out the new design to additional customers, but I can’t speculate on when the new design will be live for everyone,’ said Amazon spokeswoman Sally Fouts. Amazon started testing the new design last week, she said.”
