One shopper ordered a pair of Roxy Women’s “hot cocoa”-colored slippers at 2:52 a.m. Eastern on December 23. The slippers were sent using one-day shipping to Fayetteville, Georgia, and arrived on the 24th. Scoring the last shipped gift that got there in time for Christmas morning gives the slipper buyer the dubious honor of being the worst procrastinator to tap monster e-tailer Amazon.
A Seattle shopper got away with even more by using the Seattle-based company’s Local Express Delivery service. This guy or gal ordered a Case Logic 14.1-Inch Laptop Attaché at 11:44 a.m. Pacific on December 24 and saw it delivered at 2:44 p.m. that afternoon.
Is it a point of pride or an embarrassment to be called out for your last-minute shopping antics? It’s hard to say, but it does seem a shame to spend as much on shipping as you did on the gift.
