Amazon Prime Video and Twitter Are Looking to Tick Off San Diego During Comic-Con

The 24-foot replica of The Tick’s head will be visible from 'all major landmarks' at the event

The Tick is packing for San Diego, as Amazon Prime Video will unleash a massive Twitter campaign to promote the series at the 2017 Comic-Con Expo.

Starting July 21, Twitter users who add the #TheTickSDCC hashtag to their tweets, along with specific emojis, will see replies from @TheTickTV containing videos of the “gigantic animatronic antenna” in San Diego moving in response to the requested emojis.

The 24-foot replica of The Tick’s head will be visible from “all major landmarks” at the event, and Twitter users can control it with the following emojis:

  • @TheTickTV + #TheTickSDCC + ? = antenna moves to form the happy emotion.
  • @TheTickTV + #TheTickSDCC + ? = antenna moves to form the sad emotion.
  • @TheTickTV + #TheTickSDCC + ? = antenna moves to form the excited emotion.
  • @TheTickTV + #TheTickSDCC + ? = antenna moves to form the confused emotion.
  • @TheTickTV + #TheTickSDCC + ? = antenna moves to form the mad emoji.

Snapchat is part of the campaign, as well, as attendees at Comic-Con will receive codes that will allow them to unlock Tick lenses.

#TeamTick will be roaming the streets of San Diego, with its location being tweeted by @TheTickTV, and users “seeking assistance” can ask Team Tick members for:

  • Ouchy, for a Band-Aid.
  • Sniffly, for a soft tissue.
  • Burny, for extra-protective sunscreen.
  • Sweaty, for some cooling towelettes.
  • Stinky, for deodorant.
  • Selfie, for that “picture-perfect hero pose.”
  • Chargy, “for that 1 percent battery power you’ve somehow managed to get away with.”
  • Achy, “for that extra hour you’re going to spend standing in line.”
