Android App Count at 38K Now. Should Break 100K Before the end of 2010

The number of Android apps seems to be growing nicely. In fact, I took the estimated number of apps reported by TechCrunch between September 2009 and this month to produce the chart above.

Google: Android Market Now Serving 38,000 Apps, Nexus One Is A Profitable Business

The polynomial trend line looks like a very good fit. And, if the Android app count grows accordingly, we should see the app count break 100,000 before the end of the year. Of course, iPhone/iPad apps will cross the 200,000 app count mark well before then (if it hasn’t already). But, 100,000 Android apps is a healthy app count.
