Frank McPherson described the simple technique to turn off Location Services on an Android phone last week.
Howver, what if you want to know what is in your Android phone’s location history store? To steal a line from Apple, there’s an app for that (with a catch). The app linked below is free in Google’s Android Market.
The app lets you look at the last 50 cell tower locations and 200 WiFi access point locations stored by your phone. Unlike the iPhone, Android does not store location data if you turn off Location Services. So, this app only works if Android’s Location Services is turned on. That’s not the catch, however. The catch is that your phone must root to work.
