Android OS 2.2: New (Better) Camera Controls

Android OS 2.2 provides a new set of camera controls that appear, after using them for less than two days, to make setting camera options much simpler. It does this by flattening the controls into a single set seen at the top level of the camera app. There are separate control sets for still photos and video:

Still Photo Controls
– Focus & Exposure
– Store Location (GPS)
– White Balance
– Flash Mode
– Digital Zoom (up to 2X)

Video Recording Controls
– Color Effect
– White Balance
– Flash Mode
– Video Quality

Google has added small improvements throughout the updated Android OS 2.2 system. In the camera app, you’ll notice that icons turn to match the phone’s orientation. You can see the camera and video recorder icons has rotated 90 degrees if you compare the two photos above.
