The Webby Awards honor excellence on the Internet, including Web sites, online film and video, interactive advertising, and mobile Web sites. Voting runs April 13-29, and the 14th Annual Webby Awards will be presented June 14 in New York. Webby Award winners and People’s Voice award winners will be announced May 4.
AOL and the Webby Awards tamed up to launch an AOL-hosted public voting site across AOL’s network of more than 80 content sites, marking the first time voting will occur outside of the Webby Awards site.
The two parties will use targeting and rich-media technologies from Advertising.com to place customized, contextual ads, featuring real-time voting results, across AOL’s sites, and AOL will provide editorial support to boost participation in the voting process.
Webby Awards executive director David-Michel Davies said:
