I have a relatively huge (14 so far) number of iPad app updates to review this weekend. Three of them, however, are worth briefly noting right now. These are Apple’s own iWork office components for the iPad. There are some common update elements. Most notably, the apps all support multiple languages now. And, the Back/Front slider in the Arrange panel were enhanced in all of the apps.
Here are the update items unique to each app:
Keynote 1.1: Option to show additional alignment guides at smaller intervals.
Numbers 1.1: Improved reliability when importing Numbers ’09 spreadsheets from a Mac
Pages 1.1: Documents automatically fit to page width in landscape view. Toolbar and ruler are now available in wide-screen landscape view
I actually liked the lack of a toolbar and ruler in Pages’ landscape viewing mode. It kept the screen very clean for typing.
What we really need, of course, is a good cloud sync solution from Apple for their productivity apps. Some, though not me, might also add the ability to print directly from these apps in their iWorks for iPad wish list.
