The Terminator Pranks Hollywood Tourists

To Arnold's long list of memorable one-liners, we can now add: "Please don't bump my selfie stick."

It’s safe to say that on the day this video was shot, the guy in the leather jacket on Hollywood Boulevard who impersonates Arnold Schwarzenegger’s breakout 1984 action movie character did not expect to be trading “I’ll be back’s” with the man himself. But that he does, in an extremely funny and well-conceived bit of viral marketing.

There’s Terminator with a selfie stick. There’s Terminator at a pedestrian crosswalk, urging a pair of unimpressed tourists to “Come with me if you want to live.” And there’s Terminator at Madame Tussauds Hollywood, holding a frozen pose and then startling attraction visitors, most notably a mother with young son.

The video, shot in early April and directed by Josh Greenbaum, is a clever promotion for Schwarzenegger’s After-School All-Stars (ASAS), a nationwide program serving low-income and at-risk youth. For the entry fee of $10, which goes to the non-profit, fans can throw their hat in the ring for the prize of two VIP tickets to the Terminator Genisys premiere, as Arnold’s special guests.

P.S. Be sure to watch all the way to the end, for Arnold’s hilarious Justin Bieber dig.
