Bill Frischling Tapped for U.S. News Real Estate Launch

A two decade veteran of product launches tackles another one.

Bill Frischling joins U.S. News & World report as a new hire for a new product. He has been named vice president and launch executive for a new U.S. News online “real estate venture,” according to a press release issued today. Frischling comes to U.S. News from Gannett, where he was the senior director for product management.

Frischling, according to the release, “brings two decades of Internet product experience to U.S. News.” In those two decades, Frischling has worked on the launch of sites it’s hard to imagine didn’t just always exist, like, or products you may have forgotten existed, like AOL search (b. 1999).

Frischling is also the owner of a LinkedIn profile that, refreshingly, doesn’t take itself too seriously. Here is what he wrote about his role launching verticals,  under the title of “Mad Scientist”:

The world’s greatest job title. Helped to launch ElectionLine (later PoliticsNow) and covered the ’96 Buchanan campaign. Built the Post’s first International, Business and Weather sections online, then incubated crazy applications of technology for editorial use. I learned to never allow a 23-year-old to choose their own job title.
