Bloomberg’s Hans Nichols Jumps to NBC News

The former White House correspondent will cover the Pentagon for NBC.

Another Bloomberg correspondent is joining the NBC News ranks.

Hans Nichols will join NBC’s D.C. bureau as a correspondent later this month. Nichols will eventually move to the Pentagon to take over for retiring Jim Miklaszewski.

“Many of you are familiar with Hans and his reporting from his five-year stint as White House correspondent for Bloomberg,” writes D.C. bureau chief Ken Strickland. “I look forward to introducing him to everyone in the coming weeks.”

Most recently, Nichols has been reporting for Bloomberg from Berlin on foreign affairs and the international economy.

This is the most recent Bloomberg hire by NBC News. Stephanie Ruhle joined the network earlier this year, and last weekend began her role as co-anchor of Saturday Today. Also, MSNBC re-airs the Bloomberg Politics show With All Due Respect weeknights at 6 p.m.

Until 2014 NBC News chairman Andy Lack was Bloomberg Media Group’s chairman.
