Matthew Boyle has been promoted to Washington political editor for Breitbart News and will head the conservative news outlet’s investigative reporting and coverage of the 2016 campaign cycle.
Hailing from the Daily Caller, Boyle joined Breitbart in 2012 as a reporter.
“I am honored that the team at Breitbart News has put me in a position to continue exposing the permanent political class,” said Boyle.
Some may recall Boyle as the reporter who in 2013 flouted long held journalistic mores by naming the specific location of Michelle, Sasha and Malia Obama‘s vacation, a move that lead Esquire’s Charles P. Pierce to call him a “pudgy little monster.”
“To our audience, Boyle has been recognized as one of the few reporters in Washington who isn’t afraid to ruffle the feathers of the establishment and relentlessly tell the stories grassroots conservatives care about,” said Breitbart’s executive chairman Stephen K. Bannon.
Last month, Breitbart brought on another feather-ruffler, Neil Munro, as co-national political director.
“Matt has a unique ability to take on the Washington and media establishments and come out vindicated in the end. He typifies the ‘fighting spirit’ we value at Breitbart News,” said Breitbart News editor in chief Alex Marlow.
Congratulations on the new job, Matthew.
