NBC Sports is bringing its Peacock Paddock social media installation to Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., for its coverage of the 2018 Breeders’ Cup this weekend.

In addition, two races Nov. 3 that are not included in NBC Sports’ coverage will be livestreamed via Facebook Watch and NBCSports.com.

NBC Sports will produce the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint and Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, which will livestream on Facebook Watch commercial-free Nov. 3 from 11:55 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. ET.

Celebrities attending the horse racing event Nov. 2 and 3 will be able to make their way down the purple carpet to the Peacock Paddock, where they can share their picks for the winning horses, pose for the Phantom Camera to show off their fashion and chat with NBC Sports reporters Britney Eurton and Nick Luck.

Breeders Cup vice president, media and entertainment Peter Rotundo said there are no tie-ins with specific social networks, and celebrities will use their own devices, capture their own photos and videos and share them on whichever platforms they choose.

Celebrities expected to attend include country music superstar Toby Keith, who is a breeder and horse owner, as well as Carson Kressley of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy fame.

Rotundo said the Breeders Cup worked with NBC Sports and a design company to create a special look for the Peacock Paddock, marking the event’s first time at Churchill Downs since 2011.

The Peacock Paddock features iconic moments from past Breeders Cup events, displayed in photo and video form, as well as a “high-speed glam cam.”

In addition, the event’s iconic flower tosses—when winning jockeys place garland over their horses and throw flowers up in the air—will take place in the Peacock Paddock.
