CNN ‘Completely Uncomfortable’ With Donna Brazile’s ‘Interactions With the Clinton Campaign’

She resigned two weeks ago.

CNN responded to an email released today by Wikileaks, part of its newest batch of hacked emails, that allegedly shows Donna Brazile sent the Clinton campaign a debate question about ahead of the March 6 Democratic debate hosted by CNN.

The statement below, issued by spokesperson Lauren Pratapas, also reveals that Brazile resigned from CNN two weeks ago:

On October 14th, CNN accepted Donna Brazile’s resignation as a CNN contributor. (Her deal had previously been suspended in July when she became the interim head of the DNC.) CNN never gave Brazile access to any questions, prep material, attendee list, background information or meetings in advance of a town hall or debate. We are completely uncomfortable with what we have learned about her interactions with the Clinton campaign while she was a CNN contributor.

This is the second hacked email showing that Brazile purportedly provided an advance question to the Clinton campaign. The first was a question related to the death penalty that was asked during a March Democratic town hall.

Brazile had this to say on Twitter:

In that statement, Brazile wrote that, “As it pertains to the CNN Debates, I never had access to questions and would never have shared them with the candidates if I did.”
