CNN’s Bethany Swain will be honored Saturday night at the White House News Photographers’ Association Awards gala.
Swain has been named Video Photographer of the Year, the first woman to ever earn the distinction. A few dozen of Swain’s CNN colleagues will gather to attend the black tie dinner at the Ritz in her honor. Appropriately, tomorrow marks the debut of the latest “In Focus” installment, which is a series Swain created made up of natural sound packages shot and edited by CNN photojournalists. “A Sign of the Times: Jobs in Focus,” will air from 2 – 2:30pm Saturday.
Swain, who is eight months pregnant, is pictured here in the Oval Office with President Obama, who invited her into his office to congratulate her on the win.
