College Grads Get It: Optimism Wanes As Kids Move Back In With Mom & Dad

College students and recent graduates are “keenly aware” of the factors preventing them from getting jobs, according to the 2010 MonsterCollege Survey from Monster.com.

More than half (52 percent) said they realized that the economy would be a barrier to finding a job, up from 40 percent in 2009; only 32 percent (down from 45 percent) think they’ll receive a starting salary greater than $36,000.

Of the recent college grads who have moved back home, 31 percent of those surveyed expect to stay with their parents longer than one year.

And finally, 78 percent of graduates say that networking is the best way to find a job. But what do those whippersnappers know anyway? (Kidding!)
