Corinne Perkins Is Named North America Editor for Reuters Pictures

It's a promotion

Corinne Perkins is a freelance success story, with her relationship with Reuters beginning in 2000, when the Australian native worked as a freelance editorial assistant during the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. In 2005, she joined full time as editor in charge of the Singapore global pictures desk. Two years later, she would make the move to Toronto, where she served as online visuals editor.

She has remained there until now, but will be moving soon to New York to take on a new role as North America editor, Reuters Pictures, where she will be responsible for Reuters’ Pictures team in the United States and Canada.

In a note to staff from Reuters Pictures global editor Rickey Rogers, he describes her accomplishments during her time at Reuters, writing, “Corinne has championed Reuters Pictures on all platforms, including building the Instagram account to over 1.2 million followers and creating the Full Focus showcase. She developed our own Photographer’s Blog into a renowned forum to discuss pictures and tell photographers’ stories from around the world. Corinne has strived to present the best of Reuters photography on our digital sites as well as to our clients.”

Perkins starts her new role Sept. 1.
