There’s a fun bit of terminology in today’s announcement by Cosmopolitan magazine. Meredith Bryan, who started late last month at the Hearst publication as senior deputy editor, news, counts among her duties the creation of ‘big “zeitgeist-y” packages.’ Love it.

Bryan, who spent seven years with O, the Oprah Magazine, and worked previously as a style reporter for the New York Observer, will also edit the Body section of the magazine and parts of the Life vertical (a.k.a. Lifestyle). She is working on the latter front alongside another new, same-time hire–Jessica Goodman, who was named senior editor.

Goodman was previously a digital news editor at Entertainment Weekly. She started out, post-Columbia Journalism graduate school, as an editorial fellow at The Huffington Post and went on to work there from 2013 to 2015.

Meanwhile, on the promotions front, Laura Brounstein has ascended to the position of director of editorial and business development, for both Cosmopolitan and Seventeen magazines. Congrats to all.
