Opentracker introduced a new cloud-driven reporting system, using technology developed by Facebook that measures and analyzes millions of visitors and page views from minute to minute. In essence, this creates the ability to think and react in real time. Decisions can be made based on what is happening, while it happens. This new service utilizes cloud-processing models used by Twitter, Google, and Amazon.
Who will benefit from this technology? Anybody who needs to know what is happening on a website while it happens. People who manage site fluctuation and traffic spikes need to make decisions based on visitor behavior. The faster the decision-making process takes place the easier to manage the site. An editor or production coordinator can see what their visitors are looking for and deliver it.
