CurtCo Publishing has sold Gulfshore Life and Sarasota magazines to Dan Denton, the very man who sold Gulfshore Media to CurtCo back in 2004 and who originally launched Sarasota magazine. CurtCo is attempting to divest itself of its regional magazines, according to company CEO Bill Curtis, and is currently in the process of selling San Diego and Art & Antiques.
To aid in the transaction, Denton has created “Gulfshore Media LLC” as a new home for the magazines. He also owns Florida Home Media LLC.
Chris Schulz, the president of Gulfshore Media under CurtCo, tells Folio: that he will remain in his role for about a month to ease the transition before stepping aside and that most of the titles’ current employees will remain.
