Datanyze examined Android apps using the Facebook’s Audience Network software-development kit, finding that:
Personalization apps dominated when segmenting by category, nearly doubling the second-place category, music and audio.
Surprisingly, when breaking out the apps by installs, the most common category was under 1,000, followed closely by 10,000 to 100,000, 1,000 to 10,000 and 100,000 to 1 million.
Companies with between 25 and 100 employees were behind most of the apps.
When segmenting by company revenue, the overwhelming majority fell into the $1 million to $10 million annual range.
