Discover Magazine On The Block

Yet another respected magazine is for sale: Discover is on the block with bids due May 17, Folio: reports.

Discover Media LLC bought Discover in 2005 from Disney Publishing for an estimated $15 million, says Folio:. The LLC was formed specifically for the purchase, and then-CEO Bob Guccione, Jr., said that he intended to make more acquisitions. But currently Discover Media only holds the magazine and web site.

Current CEO Henry Donahue told Folio: that the magazine, a monthly with a circulation of 700,000, has already received some interest from about two dozen companies.
