Dmexco’s Founder on What’s Hot This Year, How the Festival Has Grown and Its Future

Christian Muche discusses the conference in his own words

COLOGNE, Germany—Dmexco, the annual digital marketing conference and exposition that takes place every September in Cologne, was more or less the brainchild of Christian Muche. Though his title is officially Dmexco’s director of business development, strategy and international, he is the event’s heart and soul—along with partner Frank Schneider. Dmexco has grown exponentially over the past three or four years, as it has raised its profile outside of Western Europe where its roots are. Muche, who lives in New Zealand when he’s not jet-setting the globe proselytizing the canon of Dmexco, spent a few minutes sharing the conference’s origins, its amazing growth and a slight sense of where Dmexco is going. (Editor’s note: Adweek is one of Dmexco’s media partners this year.)
